Stuck in the snow? With temperatures expected to reach negative 20 in some parts of the Midwest, and the Northeast getting hit by another big storm next week, most of the US will be covered in snow this winter.
If you’re feeling a tad cooped up or suddenly have school and work cancelled, check out our list of 6 things to do when stuck in a blizzard.

1.) Plan a Warm Weather Getaway:
While the snow is falling down around you, look up a relaxing and warm weather beach location for spring. Just looking at the golden sunsets and tropical drinks will have you dreaming of spring. Here’s our list of top 10 beaches around the world to start your mind wandering.

6.) Just Bundle Up & Play in the snow
After the snow lets up a little and you’re going stir crazy inside, put on your warmest clothes (and brightest ski clothes) and head outside. That’s just what Tim Sackton did last year during a blizzard in Boston.
Whether you ski or just walk your dog around the block, the city will look so beautiful covered in all that snow.

2.) Host a Beer or Wine Tasting:
Gather all your closest friends who live nearby and ask each to bring a bottle of wine. Cover the labels with construction paper and label each one with a different letter. Have friends guess where each bottle of wine (or beer) is from on pieces of paper. If you want to host this in the future, make sure to have a few different types of cheeses so you are prepared with some food to nosh on too.
Our favorite wine tastings are in California, Virginia and Spain. Start planning a trip based around your love for wine and visit the area where your favorite wine is bottled.

3.) Get your travel fix via Netflix (or a good book)
Netflix and Hulu have almost every movie and TV show available to watch at any given time. Check out the travel section for movies where the destination really shines.
Some of our favorites are Into the Wild, The Way (about the Camino de Santiago in Spain), 120 South (a great documentary about a trip to Patagonia), Life of Pi, and Endless Summer (1 and 2).

4.) Photograph the snow
As of today, over 20 Million people have uploaded snow photos on Instagram. Beat the winter blues by going outside and taking photographs of the city covered in a white blanket. Remember to use the #snow hashtag to be grouped with all the other photos!

5.) Visit Popular Tourist Attractions
If the snow lets up and you’re looking for an adventure, head out to the nearest popular tourist attraction or landmark. Most likely you already have a photo of it when it’s beautiful and sunny outside, now check it out in winter. Bonus: Most tourists won’t dare to come out in the snow, so locals have the advantage!
We love this shot of the Bean in Chicago & if you’re looking for an underground tour, consider Chicago Detours to see the hidden alleyways under the city.
