Tour Colonial Homes – As one of the earliest settlements in America, a number of historic homes are open to the public. The oldest is the Adam Thoroughgood House (1680), but other stops include the Lynnhaven House, the Ferry Plantation and the Francis Land House. A combo ticket purchased in advance is $5 for all three, otherwise entry is $8 each.

Atlantic Fun Park – Virginia Beach’s family-friendly amusement park, the Midway is full of games, thrill rides and entertainment. Cape Henry Lighthouse – The oldest government built lighthouse in America, Cape Henry is also the tallest iron-encased lighthouse in the country. Climb the 165 steps and you’ll be treated to the best view in town – a sweeping panoramic shot of the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. Admission is $8.
