Content Produced in Partnership with Celebrity Cruises
There are certain things you come to expect from a cruise: copious amounts of food, pools, spas, and sun decks, to name a few. Some cruise liners even step it up with nightly entertainment, kids clubs, and casinos. We’re not talking about any of that today, though. Celebrity’s ships are so next level you’d never expect to find these amenities at a hotel — let alone on a ship. If you haven’t sailed the high seas in awhile, may be time to give these floating resorts another look.
The Lawn Club – Celebrity Solstice Class Ships
If your image of boating and country clubs goes hand in hand, it should come as no surprise that Celebrity has installed real grass on the top deck. With half an acre of bright green lawn, the Lawn Club is quickly becoming the coolest spot to hangout, outfitted with outdoor games like bocce ball and croquet, live music, and al fresco dining. If you like to be at the center of the action, you can even take a turn manning the grill with the help of one of the onboard chefs. They’ll help you master the meats as you tend to the flames. Just remember to pack your seersucker pants.
Glass Blowing Demonstrations – Celebrity Solstice, Equinox and Eclipse
See living art taking shape at The Hot Glass Show® a custom-designed, outdoor glassblowing studio created in collaboration with The Corning Museum of Glass in New York. The demonstrations show the intricate and delicate process of molding glass with a blowtorch and you’ll leave completely amazed at the works shaped simply by human breath and heat. You may even feel inspired to create your own artistic masterpiece.
Top Chef at Sea – Various Celebrity Ships
For most people, a good vacation is synonymous with equally good food. While cruises in general are known for having a lot of dining options, Celebrity knows that celebrity chefs really seal the deal. Their Top Chef at Sea program makes every guest feel like a cheftestant with Quickfire Challenges to test your culinary chops and signature dishes conceived by your favorite competitors. Basically, it’s a floating foodie heaven.
Taste of Film – Celebrity Summit, Infinity and Millennium
This is another one for the foodies. You’ve heard of food and drink pairings, but what about bites and film? Held on the top deck, movies are shown on the big screen that are paired al fresco with a seven-course tasting menu related to the flick. Currently running is the restaurant-centric film, “The Hundred-Foot Journey.”
