Eat, Sleep, Play- Let’s Explore London with Jennifer Chong
We partnered with Visit Britain to send 4 tastemakers to England and share their experiences. Jennifer Chong (@jchongstudio) split her trip between London and Brighton. This was her first trip to London: Check out her experience and start planning your own amazing moments in London.
In my mind I always kind of imagined London to feel a lot like America – since English was also the main language there. However I was blown away by how foreign I felt, and I mean that in a good way! I enjoyed exploring London and all the wonderful culture and art the city provided.

If you love modern luxury book a room at the Mondrian London at the Sea Containers. The beds are comfy and the rooms are so pretty to look at. If you know Tom Dixon he’s played a role in the design of the space. The best part is Mondrian London is within walking distance of the Tate Modern, London Eye and other great landmarks.

If you miss the London Frieze don’t worry there are plenty of art galleries to fill your hearts content. One of my favorites was the Serpentine Galleries, a collection of modern art. There are two galleries within a five minute walk of each other and both free! If you’re there in the summer the gallery commissions a temporary pavilion by a leading architect each year.

It might be the tourist thing to do but you can’t deny the beautiful view from above of London. Take a ride on the London Eye to see a birds eye view of the city – it takes about 30 minutes to go around so enjoy the view!

For the best in adorable hipster shops check out the Boundary/Shoreditch area. I fell in love with Labour and Wait, a shop that carries a selection of simple, old school home and kitchen goods. Everything in the store was simple but beautifully crafted. Other shops you shouldn’t miss – Ally Capellino and O’Dell’s for leather goods.

When you’re tired of shopping pop into Paper and Cup for a warm drink (pictured Chai Latte!) or a treat to eat. It’s a cute setting that also serves a good cause; all profits go to a local charity so you’re also helping the community too.

Food lovers embrace yourself, Borough Market is a spot you don’t want to miss. It’s one of London’s oldest and largest food markets – it has everything from fresh ingredients to fully prepared foods. Be sure to check times before going as there are limited hours but there is so much to see and eat here you won’t want to miss it.
