There are about 164,000 miles of highway in the United States alone, and as a result, there are countless roadside attractions to go along with it. While some of these attractions are tourist traps with nothing overtly exciting to see, there are some attractions on the open road that include modern art, old tributes, and some absurd monoliths that you have to see to believe. Here are 10 attractions you MUST see

Is there any reason that there is a huge tribute to Buddha in the middle of the mountain roads in Montana? We aren’t sure, but this serene attraction might be where you truly find Nirvana

Sadly, some ice cream flavors never really take to the publics palets. As a result, these flavors have found their final resting place in Vermont, where you can go and pay your respects to the fabled “Peanut butter and Jelly” ice cream flavor that surprisingly didn’t take off

3) Carhenge, Nebraksa

Although it isn’t the most original sculpture, this homage consisting of 38 old painted cars gives the original a run for its money

4) Jell-O Museum, New York

Whether you’re a fan of this fabled gelatenous desert or not, the sheer amount of memorabilia in the museum will leave you craving something sweet (and jiggly) afterwords

5) World’s Largest Man-Made Turtle, North Dakota
