For the Adventurer – Jamaica

Despite its carefree “yeah mon” attitude, Jamaica’s mountains, rainforests, and reefs make it the perfect playground for those looking for an active beach vacation. There’s a good reason why Dunns River Falls is Jamaica’s number one destination for outdoor enthusiasts: It’s the only place you can scale a cascading waterfall and watch it flow into the Caribbean Sea. Combine that with a Jamaican bobsled tour and we call that a pretty awesome day. Other thrilling excursions to get your blood pumping include ATVing and zip lining, river tubing with a visit to Blue Hole, and whitewater rafting. 

For the Underwater Enthusiast – Cayman Islands

Devilish drop-offs, wicked wrecks and some of the coolest coral in the Caribbean made the Cayman Islands a world-class dive destination. Most people head to the North Wall of Grand Cayman because it’s the most accessible, but you really can’t go wrong anywhere. If you’re not SCUBA certified, there are still plenty of ways to explore the underwater world through snorkeling, snuba, or submarine.

For the Family – The Bahamas

The Bahamas are really a no brainer when you have the kids in tow. Basically a giant entertainment center, it’s impossible to be bored on an aqua adventure at the Atlantis Resort’s water park and dolphin habitat. For another memorable family outing, head to Stingray Cay to snorkel with the stingrays, catch some air on the water trampolines at Caylana’s Aqua Park, or kiss a sea lion at the Blue Lagoon.

For the History Buffs – Puerto Rico

The capital of San Juan was established nearly five centuries ago, technically making it the oldest city in the United States. Take your time exploring where Christopher Columbus came ashore way back in 1493 and take in the Old City’s fortifications by foot, bike or Segway. You’ll pass by the famous fort and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Castillo San Felipe del Morro, and Iglesia Porta Coeli, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the oldest church in the Americas.

For the Yachties – British Virgin Islands

Thanks to consistent trade winds, clear water and daily sunshine, it’s no secret that the best way to explore the British Virgin Islands is by boat. In fact, it is completely possible to visit or at least see a majority of the 60 British Virgin Islands by sailing. You can head to Honeymoon Beach for a relaxing champagne snorkel or fly through the water on a high-speed catamaran.

For the Beachgoers – Aruba

Some people want a beach vacation to simply appreciate the sun and sea. If you want nothing more than to kick your feet up and laze around with an umbrella drink, there’s no shortage of shoreline on Aruba’s perfect white sand. For a different viewpoint, marvel at the turquoise water on a scenic island tour or horseback ride along the gentle, lapping waters. You’ll feel zen in no time.
